Dr. Fries is head of an independent junior research group with the title "Numerical methods for discontinuities in continuum mechanics". The project is part of the Emmy-Noether-program of the German Research Association (DFG).

In addition to project informations, lectures offered by Thomas-Peter Fries and open jobs in the frame of this project are found there. Furthermore, the homepage is supposed to be a data base for the extended finite element method (XFEM), which is in the focus of the project.
