On July 4, 2023, Felipe González Cornejo successfully defended his doctoral thesis. The title of the public lecture was „Wave energy converters: Design, status and challenges". The thesis was titled "Boundary-Conforming Finite-Element Methods applied to Fused Deposition Modeling". The reviewers were Prof. Marek Behr (RWTH Aachen), Prof. Stefanie Elgeti (TU Wien and RWTH Aachen) and Prof. Marcela Andrea Cruchaga, Ph.D (Universidad Santiago de Chile) while the committee was chaired by Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing. Johannes Henrich Schleifenbaum (DAP at RWTH Aachen).

Felipe González Cornejo will continue his scientific career as a postdoctoral researcher at the RWTH Aachen University, at the Chair for Computational Analysis of Technical Systems.
